Welcome!

Welcome to the site and to the first blog entry.

This is a brand new site with a similar but slightly different character and personality than the one I had going before. The focus is still on indie artist music, in particular, those who are striving for excellence. The muisic is diverse in range, in a lot of cases, a blending of old with new. So, do expect some of the more traditional sounds, as well as the more contemporary ones.

All of the artists to be featured here, on this site, have one thing in common. They cannot be put into little boxes. They are not dedicated followers of fashion. This does not mean they are unfashionable. No, not at all. It means that they set trends of their own. Sure, they may borrow from earlier influences, but the music they make is out of the ordinary. Now, that is a bold claim to make, but it is true. I think most listeners will agree.

These are uncaged artists. Yeah, that is a good description, I think. Uncaged artists, like uncaged birds, sing a better song because they are free to express themselves as they want to, not as an industry wants them to.Therefore, the music that comes out of these creative souls is their own, not a fickle industry that, sorry to say, keeps trying to push crap on the rest of us cos, quite frankly, their primary reason for being in the 'music biz' is for the money.

Artist, John Mellencamp, wrote an interesting essay not too long ago, wherein he described the music being made nowadays as coming from the top down, from Wall Street, from those whom he referred to as 'bean counters'. It used to come from the bottom up and that, quite frankly, is where it should be coming from. Not to worry though, cos, at the present time, that is exactly where it is coming from, again, as before, but, this time around, it is coming from a new breed of artists, referred to as indie artists, who do what they do, often in small sutdios of their own, and present their music directly to you, the public, either in streams on the internet, as you will find here, or in self released CD's, and/or purchase-able mp3 downloads.

Many are also getting into self produced / self directed video productions as well. Some are simple home made productions. Some are a bit more advanced technically. The most important thing, though, is that the quality of the music is not compromised.

So, go ahead, have a look around, and have a listen. Check out what's happening here, and elsewhere, by playing audio steams, and following links to other significant sites whose mission is to bring you, the listener, the best music ever, in all styles, all genres.
